I have bot h a laptop and a pc can I use the same xp disc to load xp onto both my laptop and pc as well? or do i have to go out and buy another disc

No, of course not.

As it has *always* been with *all* Microsoft operating systems,
it's necessary (to be in compliance with both the EULA, if not
technically) to purchase one WinXP license for each computer on which
it is installed. The only way in which WinXP licensing differs from
that of earlier versions of Windows is that Microsoft has finally
added a copy protection and anti-theft mechanism, Product Activation,
to prevent (or at least make more difficult) multiple installations
using a single license.

No you can't, as has always been the case with Windows one copy one PC
unless you buy another license and it would probably be cheaper to buy
another copy of XP.

Hello
yes of course you can load it on both computers but it is not and never has
been legal.
you do not have to go out and buy another disk, but you do have to go out
and buy another license.
yes you own both computers and you can do what ever you want with them but
you do not own microsoft windows xp you own a license to put it on one
computer as stated in the EULA
Sorry hope this isn't to disapointing.

Just load it on and don't waste time

Please do not advocate breach of licensing or software piracy.
The End User License Agreement is quite specific on this matter and the end
user agrees to it to install the product

No. Windows is sold as a license to use on one computer only. For two
computers - two copies. MS office if bought retail has a 'desktop [plus
laptop' concession, but windows never has had it
