Home xp dilema

Can anyone help me, i have micrsoft home xp edition that
came with my computer (dell). the company i work for
requires us to have excel, they purchased office 2000 and
sent me the discs to install, but when i go to install i
get the error message "set up failed to locate a
qualifying product.." and the session is ended. Any body
know how to load office 2000 onto home xp?

Sounds like you are trying to install an "Update" version of Office.
Does the Dell have a "Works Suite" CD with it ? If so I think you may be
able to install the "Update" after "Works Suite" is installed. If not you
will need to get the "Full" version Office CD.

It would appear that you're trying to use an upgrade version of
Office without having something to upgrade.
