Home wireless network setup

I have networked a desktop with a wireless laptop through
a server and cable modem. I can easily get on and off the
internet simultaneously with either computer.

But, suddenly I cannot access the other computer or print
wirelessly from the laptop through the desktop. I have no
local network. When I tried to re-establish it I get an
error message: "Spooler subsystem app has encountered a
problem and must close. We are sorry for any
inconvenience...." I cannot re-establish my local
wireless network. What can I do? I tried reloading the
router and reloading Windows XP Home Edition, but it says
everything is fine.

If Eric's solution doesn't fix it, switch all your firewalls off and
try doing things. One common home networking problem is having
firewalls in place but not configuring them to allow other PCs on the
network through.

(Other PCs on home networks usually have IP addresses in the
192.168.1.* range.)
