home security through computer

I am going to purchase a home security system, it is wireless with a/v outs,
how could I use my computer to record everything instead of reusing a VHS
tape everynite?

After you ask the Manufacturer of the device sit down and calculate how much
HD space you will need to record 12(?) hours of video

I only need to record about 6-7 hours max during the night we have lousy
theifs here. I am buying a wireless video camera a radio shack and I just
wondered how to hook it into the computer to record.
