I would like to set up a page that comes up when you go to our home page. It
will look completely different then the rest of the site, and be a teaser
type page. Then you could click a button to go to the "Normal" Home page.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Will be automatically blocked by IE in XP SP2 and all future versions, and most 3rd party
pop up blockers.

i don't necesarily want it to come up as a pop-up. I want people who sign on
to come to a page that would be a "first home page" for the lack of a better
term, and then when they "click to continue" it goes to what is now our home
page, which i would call our actual home page.

I hope that makes better sense.

It's called a splash page. And, why would you not want them to go directly
to your home page? It's a waste of space and visitor time. Plus, it
probably will not be ranked in the search engines.

But, if you want one, simply design it however you want...it would be your
default page (index.htm, or whatever you use) with a link to your "next"
home page, which would be renamed something other than your normal default.

We have a special rate we want to advertise for a period of time. Then
everyone would go to this page when they go to our home page.

Thanks for the help.

Why not just add the text to your current home page, maybe as a image that stand out from the rest
of the page, and maybe with a link to another page that explain more about the special rate?

That is a good idea also. When the Boss says "do it." You try to find a
way to do it.
