Windows XP: I had my home page on IE6 set to MSN, but it
was changed by a website I must have visited. Now when I
go to IE Tools/General, all the options are changable
except for setting the Home Page. It is grayed out. Why
and how to fix? Thanks

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control
Panel

Look in the right pane for a value called HomePage. If it exists, it should
be set to 0 (zero). If not, double click the HomePage value and set it to
0. If it doesn't exist, right click in the right pane, select New, DWord
value and name it HomePage. Leave it set at 0.

If the above Registry key does not exist, go to the last sub-branch that
does, and right click in the right pane, select New, Key and give it the
name of the next subkey. Repeat as necessary.

Homepage=0 is the correct answer as Doug said.

The following script does it for you.
Reset the Internet Explorer tabs and remove all the browser restrictions.
Download the script from:

Remove IE Restrictions & Restore Missing tabs
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/reg/IE_reset_restrictions.reg

Also, refer Fix 268 from Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Restore All tabs in IE and Removes the ** Internet Options ** Restrictions
as well

** The cause may be due to a spyware. Download Ad-Aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system and eliminate the malware products.
Re-apply the above fix if necessary.
