There's a setting in IE to "check for updates". I'm wondering if this is
over-riding the home page setting?

I have used the IEAK extensively in the past, and was able to fix this
problem, but I'm new to group policy, and wonder if it gives you the
granular control of the IEAK.

We did not lock homepage down w ieak. Sometimes it works and sometimes
students get the default msn page. Seems like a login timing /timeout issue.
Thanks

We've configged an IE policy here that sets the homepage to the company's
home page, and yet some people get different pages. Those who are affected
by the policy show in gpresult that the policy is applying to the computer,
but the homepage isn't the company's. Sometimes they get it, sometimes they
don't.

Hi Ken,

I don't know how it works in Group Policy, but under the old IEAK system
you were generally better off setting the home page PER USER, otherwise
you can get strange results. On my own network, the computer home page
is set totally wrong, but no one ever sees it (except me sometimes when
I log in as Local Admin).
