Home Page Over-written - Can't Reverse

I don't know if I inadvertantly approved this, but my
home page was changed and the general tab under internet
options is missing, which means I can't change it back (I
have XP). Is there a way I can fix this? I've tried
downloading IE6 hoping that would fix it, but nothing
seems to work.
