For some reason, every time I go to my home page, it changes itself to
spidersearch.com. I've put it in my block list to no avail (internet
options/privacy/we sites). And for the record, I've NEVER used
spidersearch.com to search for something. Why does this keep happening and
what can I do to stop it? I assumed that by blocking it, it would stop
happening.

Denise;
I have no earthly idea. You're the one with the problem, not me!
Make sure all your software is up to date. Especially Windows critcal updates and Anti
Virus.
You might want to make sure you have the latest updates for Ad-Aware
My latest is: Reference Number : 01R226 19.10.2003.
---------------------------------------

How do I update Ad-aware's reference file?

The reference file updater (WebUpdate) is built into the Ad-aware interface.

To use WebUpdate,

a.. Open Ad-aware,

b.. Click the WebUpdate button (the globe image) at the top right of the Ad-aware
screen,

c.. Click Connect,

d.. When asked if you want to download and install the reference file, click OK, and

e.. When the window says, ''WebUpdate complete," click Finish.

-----------------------------------------------------
You might want to make sure you have the latest updates for Spybot S&D.
My latest: Oct 10, 2003
---------------------------------------------
You can find the update function by choosing Update from the Online section in the toolbar
to the left.
------------------------------------------------
you may be a victim of QHOSTS

Spidersearch
Try the instructions at http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers4.htm#search_engine

--------------------------------------------

An uninstaller is apparently available at this URL:

http://www.traffichog.com/toolbar/uninstall.exe

Use with caution. Scan with an up-to-date antivirus programmes before running and set a
system restore point if using XP or Windows ME.

thanks
