Brenda

I have picked up a page for home page that I don't want.
It is www.leeman-automatisering.nl/startpagina/

I don't have zone alarm, I have tried to change it many times
and also in safe mode. I have looked for leeman in regedit
and found where it is set for the start page in IE, but every time
I change it there, I get a message "Cannot edit start page.
Error writing the value's new contents"

I have used Hijack This and found the value that represents it
but when I delete it, there is no change. It is back again every
time.

I have ran SpySweeper and Spybot but can't find any problem.

Thanks for any help!!!

Brenda

Options in several third-party applications disallow such changes. Besides
Zone Alarm, these include Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer,
SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or
Antispyware.

Hi Brenda :-)

You may have malware on your system that can not be deleted by normal means.
Be aware, your Anti-Virus won't detect all types of warez, Trojans, malware,
worms, etc and neither can other adware or spyware related programs such as
AdAware and SpyBot. They don't have the proper definitions. So even if you
run it and nothing shows up, it does not mean your system is clean. It
takes a series of programs to fully clean your machine. Some very aggressive
and damaging variants of malware can replicate themselves repeatedly, or
mutate, if not removed properly. Follow the steps here:

The change has been made, so it is a matter of undoing it.

I do not have any of those programs except SpySweeper.
I can't find a place in SpySweeper (5) where changes to
home page have been disallowed.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

It was a shield in SpySweeper. Thanks!!
