I,m a new webmaster using Frontpage 2003. I made some canges and published
them. Now all my linkages on my home page have diappeared.

I've tried to fix the problem with no success.

It operates ok on my local computer but when I publish a new home page the
same problem occurs.

Please provide the URL to this published page.

I cannot go to any page. All link bars on my home page have been removed.
Or were lost in the publishing. I'm relatively new to frontpage and have
spent many hours to no avail. I can log onto the pages directly but have no
way of getting to them from "index"

Are you able to navagate when you log on with "venezialakes.org". Perhaps
I'm having problems with my server.

I get "server not found" when I try to connect.

I'm sorry. I need to qualify my problem. I just found out that it is only
the link bars that are missing. One is supposed to be between the main
header and the Board of directors marquee and another between "Quick Links"
picture and "Our Sister Community..." string. The individual links:
"He3lpful hints", Lake watch" and "Warning" are ok. I hope I'm making
myself clear. I don"t know enough yet to use proper verbs in frontpage.

Yes, those are links that work. But the links on the two linkbars I
mentioned are are causing the problem. They contain several links to the
main sections of the sight.

I understand your comments about WORD pages, etc. If I ever get a handle on
this application I intend to do much work on this sight. Thanks for all your
concern.

If I don't get this fixed soon I'm going to have my "ValueWeb" hosting
service do a restore back to the day before I messed it up.

Ok, how are you uploading the web site to the live/ remote server, via FTP or http?

I'm using "Frontpage 2003". I am not familiar with ftp or the http method.
I'm going to learn about these soon if I don't get this problem solved using
frontpage.

To publish with FP's http mode, you would open the local copy of your site in FP, then File Menu |
Publish Site and enter the destination as http:\\www.venezialakeshoa.org and the live/remote server
must have the FP extensions installed.

Thanks for your help. I was told that web sights that were built in
Frontpage are not compatable with FT. If I purchase or acquire an FT
application can I convert my sight to the proper configuration?

Also, if it would help you see my problem I can e-mail a map of my "index"
file which will indicate exactly what is missing on my published file.

FP can be used to build any type of website, the live/remote server doesn't have to have the FP
extensions, however if the server-doesn't then you can not use any FP features that requires the FP
run-time extensions.

You correct home page file name must be index.html (not index.htm)

See your wrong home page http://www.venezialakeshoa.org/index.html
- what you get from http://www.venezialakeshoa.org/
VS http://www.venezialakeshoa.org/index.htm
- what you get w/ your real home page content

Rename you home page file to index.html and republish
