Hey,

I tried to get 2 laptops networked, and, all they did was
to connect to the
hub.
I feel a piece of the setup is missing. When each reboots,
the connection
light on the hub goes out. When I try to go to My Network
Places, I get an
error
"Network not started."

One is Win 2K, other is XP. Both are "Professional"

Well getting them both on a hub is good start. If thats all it is ( 2
machines on a hub) you will want to make sure that both computers are on the
same workgroup name (granted the laptops dont' log into a domain at a work
place) by right clicking on my computer and changing the network name
button. Make both workgroup names the same, and make sure they have the same
ip address. If you connect to a work domain I wouldn't play with these
settings to much or you could get into trouble. If you don't use it at work,
make sure that that they obtain an IP address automaticly and they should
assign themselfs a 169.152.X.X addresses. After that they should be fine.
You will also have to a user name and password on each machine that you can
access, and if you wish to share file, you much share the folder. Hope this
helps.

Thanks for the help Aaron,
Once I rename them should they recognize the Hub?

The each connect to the Internet seperately, they only
wanted to share a printer.

Thanks
