home networks win 2000

How do i set up a home network, with a pc with xp as the
host but with a laptop with win 2000 conected to it?

Run the Network Setup Wizard on xp. The Wizard won't run on 2000, so
configure its network settings manually. For best compatibility with
xp, configure TCP/IP to obtain an IP address automatically and set the
workgroup name to MSHOME.
