I have two computers running XP, one with a DSL
connection and both on a 100 BaseT network.

Everytime I turn off the computers and turn them back on,
I have to run the network connection wizard on both
computers in order for the secondary computer to have
access to the internet and email.

Any suggestions?

I take it you've done the usual network set up, same
workgroup, and computer talk to each other when up and
running, ie ping one another??

Is ICS on ??

Try giving the computers static IP addresses.
The server should have 192.168.0.1 as its LAN IP address
and the second machine may have 192.168.0.2 . . . . . .

That should 192.168.1.1 for the device IP of the server for the 10BaseT network. I am assuming that one computer has two network cards in it, one for the DSL connection and one to connect to the other computer? If so, the computer that is the server for the second machine should be set up for DHCP so that when the second machine comes online, it automatically gets an IP from the server machine. The easiest solution would be to get a Cable/DSL router with built in switch capabilities such as the LinkSys BEFSR41. The WAN port goes to your DSL modem and the computers are connected to the switch ports. Very easy to setup too.

Buy a router.
