I sent this message yesterday, but it never showed up...I'll try again...

Got a new laptop running XP... brought it home, turned it on...
everything worked fine (wireless network). Able to access net and other
computers and printers. That was yesterday...

Today, it can still get to the internet, but the other computers and
printers are 'unknown' in the My Network Places window...

I've tried everything that I know of...

Also, the wireless signal strength fluctuates wildly even without moving
the computer and the speed bounces between 1.0, 5.5 and 11.0 Mbps...

HELP!!!!

When you say "the other computers and printers are 'unknown' in the My Network
Places window", what exact error message or problem are you seeing? My Network
Places is a complicated service, and there are many problems that could cause
what you've described. More details should help us identify the problems.

Next, WiFi networking is also very complicated. With WiFi, there are things
that you can change, such as router / computer placement, antenna alignment,
channel number, maybe using a different phone. Other things, like your
neighbors WiFi, you can't.
