I have two PC's on a home ethernet LAN, one running Windows Me and the other Home XP. On the latter I can see the former on My Network Places and when trying to access its folders and entering the (correct) password I just get the hourglass showing and nothing happens. I'm able to view and access folders the other way round. Any help here v. much appreciated.

Quite new to this myself but I have almost the same
setup on a wireless LAN, as regards operating systems. As
one of your computers is running Windows ME you may need
to set up NetBEUI as a protocol on both computers via
control panel-network. I think NetBEUI is included on the
Windows XP CD. If not you may be able to download it.

Hope this helps
