Home networking

I have setup a home network with a dsl modem/rourer and a
Belkin wireless gateway to my laptop. The lap top gan
use the internet, and I can see the shared folders on the
maing computer and open the word files. If, however I
change a file or creat a new one it will not let me save
it to the same folder on the main computer, only the main
computers shared folders. Also if I Ping the main
computer from the laptop I get no response, but if I ping
the laptop from the main computer I get a response.

Any help.

Do you have disable the Windows Firewall??
