I have two computers both using WinXP Pro. I am trying to
network them together. I have an external cable modem.
The cable modem is hooked up to a router and then to a
hub. Both computers "A" & "B" connect to the internet
through this setup and it works fine.
After I ran the "Home network setup wizard" on
computer "A", I went to "My Network Places" and saw all
the icons for the shared doc's & files. I made a setup
disk and went to computer "B".
After I ran the "setup wizard" from the disk on
computer "B", I went to "My Network Places" and saw
nothing. It was empty. I tried running the wizard again
and again from both the disk and the menu. Nothing!Am i
doing something wrong?
Please help!!!!!

I had the same problem I i setup my network and found out
if you go to start then to run type in command (a dos
prompt will popup)
then you need to type in
ipconfig /release
and then type in ipconfig /renew
this fixed my problem.
I hope it works for you, good luck.

If I click on "Add a network place" the wizard pops up
and when I type the path ( \\ComputerA\c )it says the
address is invalid. If I go to "View workgroup computers"
nothing shows up in the window. It's like the setup
wizard never worked for computer "C".
