Hello...hope there's some help out there.
I'm in the middle of trying to network the three
computers in our household so that we can share files and
especially the printer.
The network consists of one desktop (new and powerful)
and two laptops.
The deskptop is the main machine in the "bridged" setup
that I've opted for.
Current status: The desptop and one of the laptops are
sharing files and the printer (connected to the desktop)
fine. Success!
The second laptop is visible to the other two machines
but when you click on the laptop2's icon in "My Network
Places" on the desktop or laptop1 the message
is "\\Laptop2 is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions. The network path was not found."
Yikes!
The troubleshooter had me pinging all the machines. I
learned that Laptop2 can ping out and get a response from
the desktop and laptop1 but will not respond to pings
from them.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Sean
