My laptop will sddenly not appear on my network. It shows up as
connected on the router, It has the same netwrok name, but it won't
connect to the network. Also noticed on my last trip that when I
connected a lAN cable into my laptop I was getting all kinds of error
mesages about bad IP addresses. I tried releasing the IP address but
errors kept occuring.

Ideas? Remedies?

Thanks!

Sounds like you sere set up with a static IP address? What happens when you
try to release/renew? What is the output of "ipconfig /all"? How are your
TCP/IP settings set up?

This may not apply to you, but I was informed that Microsoft had released an
update that was causing some problems with certain network setups. An
update to the update has been released, so you might check if you have all
the critical updates.

Nope, They were all properly set, but ipconfig rel;ease commands gave
me errors I could not comrehend. Still looking...

Tried...that's when the trouble started. I hooked it to the hotel
RJ-45 and it showed "very weak connection". Would not talk.
