I can't seem to connect with other computers on my home
netwrok connecte together through an Linksys DSL router. I
get the following message when trying to map another
computer with sahred drives and files:

mshome is not accessible. You might ot have permission to
use this networkresouce. contact the administrator of this
server to find out id and your access permissions...

It could be a firewall that is blocking transmission of
the data. Check that XP's built in firewall is disabled
and also any 3rd party firewalls, then see if you can see
the other pc's.
If this doesn't work, have a scroll through this
newsgroup - this is quite a common problem, and you will
find all sorts of advice which may or may not apply in
your situation (passwords, workgroup names, ability to
ping etc)

You may have this done already, but it helped me.
I have all XP (home) networking.
We had 4 PC's & 4 names with passwords.
It didn't work (we could not connect just like you).

We turned on Guest User on all 4, and about an
hour later it started working like a champ.
