Andrew

I have a laptop running XP pro. When I try and connect to
a broadband connection (cable) I run into one of two
problems. Using a hub or a router, if my laptop is
plugged in and then another computer is plugged into the
hub afterwards, computer #2 (running XP home) is
completely cut off from the home network and the internet
and gets an IP conflict error message. If computer #2 is
plugged into the hub or router first and I try to plug in
my laptop the it (the laptop) is unable to see the network
or connect to the internet. I'm frustrated as heck,
please give me some hope!

use the router and spoof your main computer's IP, use
DHCP and delete any static ip addresses you might have
asigned to your laptop and other pc's, make sure u clear
your NICs and use the proper TCP/IP sttings

if u have any more problems let me know
my email address is velkropie_at_adelphia.net
ciao
