Hi can anyone help
I have a home network of 3 Pc's 2 running XP Pro and one Running XP Home SP2.
all are using Macafee internet security and have microsoft firewall disabled. the problem i have is the 2 XP Pro machines can see each other but not the Home one where as the xp home one can see all others and can transfer files to their shared folder and use the printer connected to a Pro machine

can anyone help

MS didn't tell you, but Home edition has some bits missing ... proper networking.

Make life easy on youself and get a good 'router' ... it should be as easy as connecting everything up and turn on.

;)

You Only Need A Firewall On Your Server Because No One Can Port Scann The Other Pc's On Your Net Work. Net Card Ip Addresses Are Totaly Hidden From The Internet. But A Trojan Can Let A Hacker In On All Your Pc's With A Firewall.

Some Firewalls Can Block It But Have An Ip Range That Can Be Opened Up Like Zone Alarm. I Gave My Macfee Fire Wall Away So I Dont Know. I Like To Use Tcp/ip Freeware To See Whats Happenin If You Need To Find The Net Card Ip " Inetquery Analyses Syte 2005 " No Spyware.
I Dont Have Xp Home. You Might Try Makin Setup Disk With The Home Net Wizzard Like You Would For Connecting A 9x Machine To Your Xp Network. It Sound Like A Pain I Dont Think It Will Hurt.
