I just inherited a work laptop running win2000. I can see
my other pcs on home network (using network places), but
when I click on one I get the message it is not available
since "There are currently no logon servers to serve the
logon request." Any ideas how to fix this? They don't
allow me administrator access, so I need to spell it out
to my tech support. Thanks

Your laptop is part of work domain, and your home network is a workgroup, I
presume. First, rename the workgroup as the work domain; second, create on
all home machines the same account you use to login on the laptop because
you're not a laptop administrator.
You would just explain the goal to your trusted techies and they would be
glad to help you; There is no shame or offence unless it's against the
corporate policy.
