Hi,
I have 3 pcs connected to the internet via a router, just recently my
youngest has connected an xbox 360 through the router also, it seemed to be
fine at first but today when we are both online I am getting a IP Conflict
message and we both lose internet connection. When he turns off the xbox and
I restart my pc I can connect normally, any help appreciated, I have only the
most basic IT knowledge.
thanks

You may try to ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew to renew the IP
address. Or this search result may help.

The system has detected a conflict for IP addressSituation: the client
reported some of their computers kept receiving: "The system has detected a
conflict for IP address" error. ...

power cycle the ROUTER and see if that clears the issue.

Hi
Make sure that none of the Network devices has a static IP that is within
the DHCP range of the Router.
Especially look at the X-Box Network configuration.

Gareth,

Here's where you have to get your feet wet. We're going to need to look at a
log from "ipconfig /all" from the problem computer, from one other computer, and
from the XBox, so we can compare them and diagnose the problem. Read this
article, and other linked articles, carefully.
