I have semi-succesfully set up a home network. Here is
what I have and what works and then I'll follow up with
what does not work.
My hardware:
Desktop is a WIN98SE P-Cel 333MHZ 198MB RAM. 6GB Hard
Drive and a 80GB Hard Drive (plenty o swap space)
Connection is Cable Modem. Added a Airlink Router that
has wireless and 4 port capability.
Laptop is a Dell Latitude C610 PIII 1GHZ 256MB RAM WINXP
Pro version 2003 service pack 1. Using a wireless Airlink
PCMCIA card for connection to the router.
Connection is great and I can connect to Internet, and my
work network via a VPN connection with no problem.
Here is the problem. The laptop was set up as a
corporate laptop. I cannot set up a workgroup without
deleting my current corporate workgroup.
One of the main purposes of creating the home network is
so I could print to my printer connected to my desktop
and share a few files here and there.
Anyone know of a work around here?
I thought of creating another VPN. Is that feasible?
Thanks in advance
