Hi there,
I have recently set up a router at home and connected two XP PCs to it and
now have internet access on both machines. Unfortunately I do not seem to be
able to access either computer from the other and can see no pc's within the
workgroup. One PC is connected with a wireless card the other through RJ45
(router caters for both). Router is a netgear and wireless card a linksys.
From what I can see both TCPIP settings look fine with each using
automatically assigned IP addresses. I have checked the router and it is
assigning IP addresses to each PC fine and I can ping both PC's however I
can not ping the computer names only the IP addresses.
I am looking to have access to the hard disk on both PC's. When I try to
click on the workgroup in either PC in network connections it tells me the
workgroup is not accessible and check with administrator that I have
permission. Don't think its security as XP accounts I am using are all
administrators. Any ideas?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Steve.
