How do I can get the newsgroups that can better deal with home LAN's?

TIA, Bill

Try: comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.networking

For home WiFi: alt.internet.wireless

Better than here? You haven't given us a shot at the
problem yet, or did I miss it? If it is some arcane,
professional environment only question, you might
skip this NG, but you never know. Plus, if you really
mean questions about "Home" LANs, I'm sure there
are plenty of us with that kind of experience.

I interpret the question, as one about HomePlug or the like.
Networking over power lines, telephone wire, and the like.
Questions about WiFi or hardwired Ethernet, are covered by a
lot more groups, than things like HomePlug.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HomePlug

A quick check on Google, shows a few hits here, plus scattered
other groups. A Google check, using the product name, should
give some other ideas.

comp.home.automation
uk.comp.home-networking

Some of these home wiring schemes have got a black eye, because
the initial implementations had spotty performance or low bandwidth.
Companies are still working on the tech, ironing out the issues by
going to multiple PHY layers, in an effort to offer something to
everyone. As for the bandwidth part, a lot of the newer technologies
promise great things - but from a consumer perspective, take the
"marketing bandwidth" number and divide by two just to start. If
there is interference, things go downhill from there.
