If I am on my home page and click on the "home" button, it brings up my
homepage, but some of the buttons are missing and my header is left aligned
instead of center aligned. Also the main picture on the page is not correct.
The link works from the other pages on the website. Any ideas? The site
addy is:
http://www.countrymanorbuilders.com

Am new to doing a web page so feel free to offer any criticisms.

Thanks,
Carol

You have 2 home pages, check with your web host to see what the correct file name should be for your
home page, then rename the file in FP and delete the one you don't need.

"nevermind". For those having the same problems, I went into the properties
and instead of putting a link to the "index.htm" page, I typed in the web
address and that seemed to fix it.

Thanks,
Carol

However you still need to have a single home page with the correct filename as required by your web
host.

Yes, I do have a single home page. However I have all of my buttons on all
pages and the button to return to the home page is also on the home page
(this way I just copy and paste the buttons for any new page). When I had my
home page open and clicked on the "home" button, it would bring up a partial
page. I did a properties on the button and instead of linking it to my
index.htm page, I actually typed in the address of the home page and it now
works correctly.

The point Thomas is trying to make is "index.htm" *is not* your home page,
"index.html" is your home page. You have both on your server and should
delete index.htm (after you clean up all your buttons so none of them point
to index.htm - like the two listed properties in Homer Glen!).

You should consider using the FP Include Page component, that way you only need to have a single
page with your navigation, which can then be included in all other page, thereby you only have to
update a single page of navigation.

Read up on setting the width of your pages. Put everything in a single table
no wider than about 750. Otherwise your pages spread all over the place!
Eleanor

OH!!! Thank you. That clears it up.

Thanks Thomas. I was wondering if there was a way I could just make say a
"Header Page" and have it included in all my pages. Will have to look into
how to do that.

Carol

Thanks Eleanor. Am printing all these suggestions so I can try them out. I
appreciate them all.

Dan,

After I answered your response, I thought I understood, but when I went in
to delete the "index.htm" file and that is the only one I have, I do not have
and html file. What did I do wrong and how do I get it back?

Thanks,
Carol

Eleanor,
By 750, I'm assuming you mean a width of 750 pixels max, correct? Also do
you have any good links to info on setting widths? I tried the help files in
Front Page, but didn't come up with too much.

Thanks,
Carol
