Hello all!

My non-technologically minded supervisor has asked me if we can show
holograms in PowerPoint. I can find info on how to generate holograms, and I
know what they are...

I'm inclined to say that we cannot show holograms on PowerPoint because we
would need a hologram generating program and possibly a different projector..

Can someone just confirm this for me or let me know if I am wrong?

thanks!

AFAIK, PowerPoint does not have the ability to generate holograms

Can a regular computer screen even display holograms?

Good Morning Chris,

PowerPoint is a two dimensional display that can be altered in time.
Therefore it is possible to make the perception on depth and a third
dimension, but it is not possible to project in 3 dimensions.

1) I would verify that your boss is not pulling your leg
2) Find out what he/she really wants.

It is possible to do many things in PowerPoint that do not appear to be
flat, even though they are.

Not to my knowledge. I guess with a little work, you can make you image look somewhat 3 dimensional

I am going to guess by "hologram" your boss is referring to a 3D rendering
that can be viewed from any angle. The simple answer is, not PowerPoint
cannot import these formats (such as .pxr, .mgf, etc.). You do have two
options:
1. Have the rendering converted to a movie format, such as an .mpg or .wmv
and insert the movie
2. Use OFX, which is a 3D "add-in" for PPT (www.instanteffects.com)

Dear Bill

Thanks for the reply. My supervisor is "untechnically minded" enough that I
actually do not think he was pulling my leg.

I appreciate everyone's helpful comments.

Sincerely,

Chris

Stop playing with the anaglyphs, take two analgesics and call Glen
upside down.

Glen's upside down.

Close but no kewpie, doll.

Call Glen upside down.
Stand on your head. Phone Glen. See? Si!
