Got a new Dell Dimension 4550. Has a NEC DVD+RW ND 1100A
DVD reader and burner factory installed. I cannot figure
out how to record data to it. My intent is to use the
DVDs as a back-up storage device. Should be able to get
4+GB of data on one disk.
Am I confused? any help?

Jim

Dell should of included DVD burning software. If not Nero
Burning ROM is a great application for writing data to
DVD's. also alot of backup programs will write to DVD's
for you.

.
For additional info, DVD = Digital Video Disk and is not
for data. Your DVD-RW is for copying videos. You can
also use it to make data disks, but you'll have to use CD-
R's or CD-RWs.
