The error appears when you start Outlook 2002 or Word
2002. It points to a folder which does not exist

"The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'old
excel documents.ink' refers to is unavailable. Make sure
the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is
available and try again."

The user does not (and never has had to his knowledge) a
folder of this name. It is not in the outlook bar or his
my documents folder.

How can I get rid of this error.
Thanks

look in windows explorer - it sounds like a mapped drive or the user used a
floppy disk and outlook and word are still looking for it. Try opening a
file in word or attaching a file to an email message from your local drive.
