Dave

Hi,

I have 2 domain names registered through powweb.com:

1) Elaborate-wallcovering-installations.com
and
2) lourindonesalesandservices.com

I registered the elaborate-wallcovering-installations one
back in October 2002, and have been updating it on a
regular basis without incident.

The problem is when I registered the 2nd domain (about a
month ago as "lourindonesalesandservices.com")and created
the page (a simple, one page deal), I saved it
as "lreindex.com" and tried to publish it using Frontpage
2000. What's happening is that it publishes the 2nd site
(lourindonesalesandservices.com) with the index to
elaborate-wallcovering-installations.com.

Any ideas on how to correct this? If you want to use the
following example, think of it this way:

Joe.com and Pete.com are both registered through the same
host. Jim is the webmaster for both sites, but he only
has 1 copy of Frontpage 2000. Joe.com was the first site
to be published, using index.htm, but now Pete.com wants
to be created and seen on the web. What does Jim do to
get Pete.com online?

Thanks!

Dave,

You can have multiple separate sites on your local computer. Just create a
new website in a different directory, but the second site's pages there and
you're ready to go.

I'm using FP 2002 but that shouldn't make any difference.

It just so happens that I am doing exactly what you're asking about. To use
your example, my Joe.com has been up and running for several years. It's
hosted by Host A. Now my Pete.com wants a web presence. We contacted Host B
and they set aside space for us. Pete.com now has a site but for the time
being, it just says that it's under construction. When I (Jim) want to edit
one or the other, I just need to make sure I'm opening the proper web
(whether it's the live site or the local copy) and enter the proper user
name and password.

I think the key is to DOUBLE CHECK (not yelling, just emphasizing) to make
sure you're in the correct site. I'd also suggest you make your log-in
information completely different. That way you can't accidently cheange one
site instead of the other. I know - we already have too many user names and
passwords in our lives but it's worth the little bit of aggravation. Good
luck :-)
