Have you got a source for that? I haven't heard anything since the end
of September was reaffirmed by Valve at ECTS.

i spoke to Valve at ECTS also and they said it wasn't delayed. Many many
sources, have a look on game websites, they have now changed the date from
30 Sept to November, also check out planet half life.....
It seems it is delayed.

That's all hearsay and rumors. Store chains and game sites commonly miss by
months in either direction. Presumably they themselves base their dates on
rumors. The only official date that has ever been given is sept 30.
Personally I have my doubts it'll be released by then, but it would be a
pleasant surprise. Since there's been no "gone gold" press release yet,
this close to the supposed date, I take it if it makes sept 30 it'll be a
Steam only release for the first few weeks while the cds are pressed and
shipped to stores.

That ain't proof. A statement from Valve would be proof. Also don't forget
about Steam. It's not chained by the need to manufacture CDs/boxes and get
them shipped to stores. It could go gold sept 29 and be on Steam the
morning after in theory.

Where, exactly? The interview's only question about release is the SDK and
its supposed release prior to game release. There's no "almost admission"
of anything there. Just how are you managing to read that into those lines?
Or are you assuming that they'll delay the game in order to make sure the
benchmark that's mentioned gets released prior to the game? I for one
seriously doubt that. If one of them has to be delayed the benchmark will
be it. That doesn't mean the game will be released on date, of course. But
so far noone official has given any other date than sept 30. Will it make
it? We'll know in a few weeks time.
And look at it this way, the benchmark is supposedly coming out a
couple of weeks before the game, so that means tomorrow then right??

Yes, but it is Vivendi who are delaying we think.
Valve also said 30th September to us at ECTS but they were scoffed at by
everyone who heard him say it.
 
Besides, everyone everywhere is saying it is delayed and it certainly looks
like it is, game sites may well get things wrong, but when they have MOVED
the date forward from the original date I am much more inclined to believe
it.
 
lmao you call that proof i call that garbage, valve has announmced at least
2-3 times in the last week (including the benchmark statments ) that the
game will still be up for launch on sept 30.

Rumors of delays have been flying around a lot longer than a month. It has
yet to be substantiated as anything but rumors, however.

That doesn't mean they're wrong. But it certainly isn't a confirmed fact as
of yet. Like everybody else (unless you work for Valve) you're just gonna
have to wait about 2 weeks and see if the rumormill got it right or not.
