Analyzing HJT logs is fairly easy,
for some of us ... however, initiating the right course of action is not so easy ... just because there are some automated analysers around, don't make anyone an expert overnight.
There are an abundance of good sites dedicated in helping others in removing nasties from your system ... these 'helpers' have gone through a rigorous 'training' regime before being allowed to help.
While we here at PCReview have had good success in the past, I feel we have come to a point where knowledge and time is being outstripped by the latest run of nasties. Dunno about anyone else, but I personally find it can be a daunting task which needs a bit more time than I am willing to give.
We do actually have,
what I would call, an "expert" in our midst ... DaveyDoom. However, he is not as active as one wold like in dealing with our outcrops of desperate posters. One reason he doesn't frequent PCR so often is quite simple, he has obligations elsewhere, and time is a restraining factor.
Until at such time someone can prove to me that any volunteer has the time, knowledge, expertise and have undergone at least one of the recognised training programs, I feel we must decline from 'helping' and instead recommend they use an alternative site.
It is important to remember that in most cases the sequencing in initiating a "fix" is done in a specific order, and, with the correct tools ... blanket suggestions of trying this-n-that may have some success, but can leave the poster with just as much of a mess.
I can't force anyone to obey these "suggestions" but
I will post links to the more specialist sites.
I'm open to suggestions ... feel free.
