Hit Counters

I am new to front page and still learning most elements. While trying to
publish a hit counter on my site I ran into a problem. I can get the counter
published, but it will not start at the starting number that I enter. I have
the box checked to start at the number I enter, but each time it starts at 1.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
 
Open your site on the server and change the starting number there and save the page.

Hit counts don't publish from your local machine to the server. This is by design.
