I've inserted a hit counter on my live website using FP 2003. I've ensured
the FP Server extensions 2002 are enable. But still cannot get it to work.
Can any one of you pls. suggest some solutions??

Thanks a bunch.

How are you testing your page with the counter?

I tried to pull it up in the FP design page/preview page. The counter shows
up correctly there. But when I try to go the actual site and pull up the
page, the hit counter does not show up.

You must view it via http:// in your browser.

Thomas,

I am viewing the page via http:// , but still it does not show up

Any other ideas??

Make sure that the IIS 6 server is set to allow CGI to run. By default, I
believe, this feature is turned off in Windows 2003 servers. The hit counter
is a seperate executable that isn't technically part of the extensions so
enabling the FP extensions may not enable the hit counter. Also make sure
that the _private directory does have write permission for the _private
directory so that the counter can read/update the hit counter text file.

Hope this helps,

Mark,
I've tried both the things that you mentioned:
1. Allowed CGI to run.
2. Ensured the everybody has write permissions on _private folder.

Yet... the hit counter doesn't work.

Just a curious question, at which location do I find the fpcount.exe file??
Is this the one which bring us the hit counter??

Thanks

Are you creating the hit counter directly on the server via FP or locally and then publishing to the
server via http?
