History will not clear

Hi. When I try to clear my history in "Tools," "Internet
Options," the history is still present when I close and
then reopen the history or the browser. I also tried to
clear my history by right clicking on the top-level folder
in the history and clicking "Delete." It goes away at
that moment, but when I close the browser and reopen it,
or when I simply "view by site," the sites are there again.

Is there any way to REALLY clear the history?

Joshua,
With no IE windows open, try it from Control Panel> Internet Options.

Or you might need to delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be
created on restart.

Free History Eraser from

History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.
