History problem

In Explorer with Yahoo open, When I click the history
tab, I get no site, date, most recently viewed or
anything normal it simply shows "History, then when I
click that word it says index. When I click index, MS
Word opens with a box and says index.dat is locked for
editing by 'another user'. It then offers "click notify
to open a read only copy of the document and receive
notification when the documenent is no longer in use.
Options appear in a box: Read only, notify and cancel.
When I click notify, jibberish appears in a word
document. I have run Spybot, Ad Aware, and Virus Scan
but no effect. What can this be and how do I resolve
this situation? Thank you.

No help at all and no responses. I cannot change the
situation. I wonder who the "other user" is?

I will try. When I click the history tab, no history
option appears. Just the word "History". Clicking this
the response "index" appears. Click this I get a dialog
box in Word. In it is "File in use" in the blue line.
Also in it it says "Index.dat is locked for editing
by 'another user'. The last line says Click Notify to
open a read-only copy of the document and receive
notification when the document is no longer in use. It
gives these choice boxes to click on to the right: Read
Only, Notify, Cancel. If I click Read Only A page of
jibberish with "Client URL Cache 5.2" appears in Word.
Clicking notify brings up the same. Another "History"
appears each day. Please advise. Thank you. JF

Try a search?

Also you will find that the new web interface to Microsoft newsgroups
provides a better search tool than the one you are using:
