Explorer 6.0 SE, Win 98 2nd Ed, I have tried reinstalling
& have used spyware remover with on success.
The pane only shows "History" & "Desktop.ini", no View or
Search.

Hello,
I tried the fix with no luck. Do you have any other
suggestions? The history pane has a history folder
displayed, when I expand it there are
3 folders named MSHist01200... & one file that is index.dat
Thanks,
Jim

Jim -

Your History folder has become corrupted. Re-Create a new History folder by
a DOS Deltree command. Follow this procedure for W98 or W98se.

Shut down all programs and re-boot your PC into Ms-Dos mode. Then, do the
following:

Run the following commands from the windows directory.(typically
c:\windows\>)
FYI: The commands are usually *not* case-sensitive.
At the prompt of C:\Windows\>

Type smartdrv and press enter

Then type Deltree History (Note: there is a space between Deltree and
History) and press enter
prompt asks for confirmation (y/n)
type y (for yes) press enter

Type deltree tempor~1 and press enter
prompt asks for confirmation (y/n)
type y and enter
Prompt appears after confirming deletion.

Type exit (or use Ctrl-Alt-Del) and the PC will re-boot. History folder
should be empty and clear.
