History Folder in Open Window Pane?

Hello,

I'd like to know how to clear entries from the history in
the open window pane. In other words, when you open a
document, the most recently used documents appear in a
drop down box, and I'd like to clear one of those entries.
Also, how do you set the auto complete feature for this
open window? To open a document, I find I have to
manually type the name in the open box or scroll to the
appropriate file; a co-worker can type the first few
letters of a file she uses all the time (it's in her
history drop down box) and the complete name automatically
pops up.

Thanks so much in advance!!
Katie

Go to tools, options, general tab, and uncheck recently used file list. This should take the list away.

That doesn't affect the History in the File Open dialog, only the MRU list
on the File menu.
