history files

How do I delete unwanted history files that cannot be
deleted by products such as cleansweep.

Please be specific in your response as I am not an expert

From Internet Explorer options:
Delete Temporary Internet Files, and Clear History
then

Login as a different user with enough priviledges (Administrator?)

Open Explorer and choose Tools -> Options -> View
Make sure that hidden files and protected system files are visible

delete these folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\JOHN\Cookies
C:\Documents and Settings\JOHN\Local Settings\History
C:\Documents and Settings\JOHN\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

These folders will be recreated when JOHN next logs in
 
You may also open IE as whatever user you wish to remove these history
events from , Select Internet Options from the Tools menu, then click on
'Clear History', 'Delete Cookies', and 'Delete Files'
