I am having a hard time figuring out why on the history
view, it will only retain the websites that I have been on
while the browser is open. In other words, if you go to
View/Explorer Bar/History...normally, it holds 7 days of
the websites visited. Now...every time I close the
browser, go back to History, everything is deleted. I
have uninstalled XP, but it didn't work...any
suggestions??? 4 phone calls to Dell and they can't
figure it out either! Thanks so much!

Just wanted to point out too that under Internet
Options/Advanced there is an option to empty temporary
internet files when browser is closed...that is NOT
checked.

Cheryl,
Are you using some "Pop-Up AD Stopper" program? It also may have a feature to delete "internet files" when you close the browser, that is causing the history list to be deleted, that you need to turn off also.

I had this problem when using the free version of, "EMS Free Surfer MK II" program. I had to turned off the "Washboard" clear cache feature in the program, and got my history list back. Your program may have something similar that needs to be turned off, too.

Thank you so much...that was the problem!!! For anyone
else experiencing the problem...I use earthlink Total
Access and there is a privacy option. Moved that to low
and it resolved the problem. Thanks again, Rich!
