Hi,

In a histogram chart type, I have several countries on the x axis and
two rectangles for each country giving their gdp and gdp per capita
level.

What I want to do is assign gdp to the left Y-axis and gdp per capita
to the right Y-axis.

Usually, I just change the data series option so it assign it to the
secondary axis.

However, when I do this in an histogram, excel also automatically
group the two rectangles together for each country.

Does anyone knows how to avoid that ?

I'm using office XP.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Here's one way: add two more data series, both with all zeros. Your data
looks like this:

Country gdp gdp/cap zeros1 zeros2
ctry1 100 3 0 0
ctry2 350 4 0 0

Now add the two sets of zeros to your chart. Plot series "zeros1" on the
primary axes and plot "zeors2" on the secondary axes.

Now select your gdp series, go to Format | Selected Data Series | Series
order tab. Arrange it so that the gdp is first and zeros1 is second. Do
the same with the gdp/cap series, but make zeros2 first and gdp/cap second.
