Hi,

I am less than technologically astute, so forgive me if I
don't use the correct lingo. I have run the beta version
of AntiSpyWare, and reboot after each sweep. Every time,
the program tells me that both AproposMedia and
PeopleOnPage, "browser hijackers", are present and need to
be removed. However, no matter if I run the program and
reboot several times, these two hijackers are still
present. The program seems unable to clean them out.
Suggestions?

Thank you,

Elaine

Elaine,

Give this a shot ... run MSAS and have it remove the spyware; reboot to
Safe Mode and scan again with MSAS. Please post back with your result.
Thanks.

Get HijackThis.exe from
http:/www.tomcoyote.com/hjt/HijackThis.exe

Save it then Open it and SCAN your system then SAVE LOG
and send me the HijackThis log as an attachment. You can
try just copying it and pasting it into a reply but I
might not see it. I should be able to identify the
problem and tell you how to get rid of it for good.

Does it tell you where they are located?

I had a similar situation. 2 trojans were reported and I was unable to
delete them until I found that they were inside a system restore point and
the second inside a zip file.

Deleting the system restore point and expanding the zip file and deleting it
deleted both problem files.

You might have the same kind of problem. It's worth some research.
