When I try to click into the secured parts of a site
where I have to sign in/log in (wish lists, shopping,
prescriptions, bill paying, banking, etc.), instead a
site titled ezCyberSearch opens. Is it a virus?

Browser hijacker parasite.

Get and update SpyBot Search and Destroy through its online update function.
http://tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/

Ad-Aware is also a good "adware" remover.

Get a good HOSTS file to stop theses nasties.

SpywareBlaster also stops these nasties.

Keep these things up to date as new nasties come along just like
viruses/worms.
