I have been unable to clear Cool Web Search variant from my computer. Will
deleting Internet Explorer and using another browser, like Mozilla,
effectively uninstall CWS, or will it still remain on my computer and cause
other problems?

It's hard to say, without knowing what you've done so far to try and get
rid of CWS.

To remove it, you need to use the latest version of CWShredder (v1.59.0):

Mozilla is a more secure browser than IE, but it will not remove CWS.

Deleting IE is not advisable, as this may screw up your Windows
installation.

Referring to what you mentioned in the other thread you have going on this
topic:

Hope that helps,
Ian.
Thanks, Ian. I was considering just removing IE, but I don't want to cause
further problems. I have followed the directions at the Merijn site, but
what ever I have behaves like the last listed variant, realyellowpages
combined with another, but the file with the 61c00000 which identifies the
bad file is not present on the notepad log when I open it. CWShredder
newest version does not even recognize that my computer is infected. Not
sure where to go from this point, except just to live with it until someone
finds a fix. I do woryy that it will be spread to other computers from
mine.

As far as I know, it isn't a worm or a virus and as such is not the kind
of thing that spreads on its own. It is nice that you think of others that
may be affected by your actions (or inaction) though. I wish more net
users would be so caring.
