On a Windows 2000 Workstation with IE6 everytime I type a
URL(known to be good)in the address bar it get's
redirected to some funky site. When I first start the
browser and the home page automaticly comes up I can use
the search box and click on a link forthe same sites and i
can bring up the pages fine.
I have executed an IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS multiple times
after that I do a IPCONFIG /DISPLAYDNS and there are still
entries???? HELP

You probably have the QHOSTS virus and/or adware-trackware software
inadvertenly installed. Scan with an updated AV engine to remove the virus
and repair your system and also run Lavasoft's Adware 6.0 to remove the
adware.

Not Hijacked DNS hijacked HOSTS file more like it, Qhosts Trojan has been
floating around for a while. Do you have an up to date AntiVirus program?
Go to the symantec web site search for Qhosts for a fix or just do a scan in
case it is a variant.

Thanks, I have and have for years run Symantec virus and
have auto update set to run weekly via broadband
connection.
Must be some ad/track software. I 'll run Adaware from
the Comcast site.
