Hijack Problem

I think I have a hijack problem on my pc. When I'm in e-
mail, (yahoo or netscape) the text does not appear
instantly as I type; it takes a while before it shows up.
Sometimes the system locks up entirely, ans some web pages
don't load or work properly. I had this problem once
before and someone on this forum posted a link to a
website that had a downloadable program that worked
instantly. I don't remember the website. Please help.
