These values show in the registry, and 18 of 22 people I know have the
there. It seems to be a Trojan, but the Dehli offices of M$ an
Symantic don't see a problem.
Break into the middle of the XP Pro install program and in C: th
programs clock.avi, clock.txt, explorer.exe, hh.exe, msdfmap.ini, an
regedit are found.
WipeDrive 3.0 with three pass erase does not seem to rid me of them
and once plugged into the net, I start recieving a lot of incomin
traffic, most of which seems to end up in WBEM or the Healt
directories.

Your post is rather hard to follow, especially the bit about "Break into
the middle of the XP Pro install program...". I'm not at all sure what
you're saying here.

If I interpret your post correctly, you clean installed XP after wiping
the drive. Then after the installation was complete, you went on the
Internet with XP without a firewall. You were immediately infested with
malware. No big surprise there. Since you mention "18 of 22 people", I
assume your computer is part of a network. Without a doubt, other
computers on that network are infected and when you join your newly
clean computer to that network, your computer is infected. No surprise
there, either.

You need to perform the follow malware removal steps on ALL machines.
ALL machines should be taken off the network until you are 100% certain
that ALL machines are completely virus and spyware-free. Where is your
IT Dept.? They should be handling this. Yes, it is definitely
burdensome to clean an infected network, but that is what you have to
do and then once clean, put proper security/antivirus measures in
place.

1) Scan in Safe Mode with current version (not earlier than 2003)
antivirus using updated definitions.

2) Remove spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-aware. These
programs are free, so use them both since they complement each other.
There is a new version of CWShredder from Intermute. I would not
install the other Intermute programs, however. Alternately, there are
CoolWebSearch malware removal steps at SilentRunners.

Be sure to update these programs before running, and it is a good idea
to do virus/spyware scans in Safe Mode. Make sure you are able to see
all hidden files and extensions (View tab in Folder Options).

HijackThis is an excellent tool to discover and disable hijackers, but
it requires expert skill. See below for HijackThis links. A combination
of HijackThis and About:Buster works well in removing the About:Blank
homepage hijacker. Again, this is an expert tool and novices should get
help with it.

3) If you are running Windows ME or XP, you should disable/enable System
Restore because malware will be in the Restore Points. With ME, you
must disable System Restore completely. With XP, you can delete all but
the most recent (presumably clean) System Restore point from the More
Options section of Disk Cleanup (Run>cleanmgr).

4) Make sure you've visited Windows Update and applied all security
patches. Do not install driver updates from Windows Update.

5) Run a firewall.
